On The Set

Friend and fellow photographer Leah of Ninth Life Studios put together a short video of a shoot we worked on together back in February. While the idea for the shoot had long since been planned, the actual details were a bit spontaneous. We had hoped to shoot in the snow but alas, the weather didn't cooperate (does it ever in Michigan?) so we had to improvise.

To create a white backdrop we first tried to spray paint the wall. As you can see, that wasn't working out.... Leah and I eventually made a run to the local hardware store to buy primer and rollers. We decided to just paint a giant white rectangle on the wall to serve as a built in backdrop!!! No footage of that, sorry. What you missed was me wearing an outfit of plastic bags to protect my clothing and Leah making use of her well-developed wall painting skills. Maybe I can post some stills from the rejected video bits later....

My favorite shot of the day:
Cattie and Kitty!!!

Model Cattie created the outfit that she wore as well as the headpiece/wig (Which I now have up for sale, any takers?) Her cat, whose name I can't recall, was a shy, fluffy thing and not at all accustomed to the attention she was getting that day. I guess that's the price you pay for being so darn cute!!! My cat, the late Ms. Cleopatra was quite the opposite and turned on the charm for my camera every chance she had.

R.I.P. My little love...
Cleo

Another cat that appreciates the attention is Ms. Twig, master of Theatre Bizarre here in Detroit. If you aren't familiar, check it out. Quite possibly my favorite local venue and far beyond explanation... I recently assisted Leah on a shoot at TB and as usual, the folks who live there were welcoming and gave us free rein of the area. Twig welcomed us with an incredible leap from one of the stage rafters and provided an appreciative purr in response to our company. She made herself at home in front of Leah's camera alongside model of the day Jill Z. Leah, photos?!!!

Anywho.....the following are some images from a photoshoot I put together at Theatre Bizarre just over a year ago:

Haha. This is what I call a snowball post. I honestly had no idea where I was going to go with this when I started but hey, lots of eye candy for you, yea?! =)
